Minimum School Program (MSP)

Overview

The Minimum School Program (MSP) is the primary funding source for school districts and charter schools in Utah. The Fiscal Year 2022 total budget is $5,369,815,300 including state and local dollars. The state MSP funds represent 75.86% of total MSP revenues and includes 24.14% of local revenue. The funds are used to support over 1,300 traditional, alternative, special education, online, and charter schools for 675,247 K-12 Utah students.
