Utah Registered Apprenticeship Program for Teachers (U-RAPT)

URAPT LogoUtah Registered Apprenticeship for Teachers

The Utah Registered Apprenticeship Program for Teachers (U-RAPT) is a paid, competency-based program with two phases: pre-apprenticeship for those earning an associate's degree while gaining classroom experience, and apprenticeship for those with an associate's degree who work with a mentor teacher to earn a bachelor's degree and teaching license. You can review the current list of U-RAPT Accepted Partners (Google Doc).

We've designed the website to be easy to use.  U-RAPT partners can find the information and resources they need.

An Apprentice is an individual who is working toward a professional educator license and is learning the trade of teaching while being mentored by a qualified teacher.

A Mentor Journeyworker Teacher is a highly qualified teacher who guides and supports the Apprentice in their journey toward becoming a licensed teacher.

An Employer Partner is a school or district that hires the Apprentice and provides them with hands-on experience in the classroom.

A Related Instruction Provider is a college or university that provides the Apprentice with the necessary coursework to complete their bachelor's degree.
