These are for outstanding Career and Technical Education students. The awards cover up to one year of tuition and are open to any graduating senior student who plans to get CTE training after high school.

Utah Digital Media Arts Festival

An annual competition/festival that gives Utah high school students the opportunity to showcase his or her best work. From 3D graphics to 2D animation, digital media projects are featured from students all around the state. Entries are judged on technical and artistic value.

Utah IT Challenge

An annual event held in partnership with the Microsoft Image Academy, a national program that provides industry-leading technology skills. Students, grades 9-12, have the opportunity to compete among their peers and test in Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) and Adobe certifications. Students who participate in the Utah IT Challenge further develop skills in industry-leading technology that will jump-start his or her future career in the IT industry.

Young Technology Scholar (YTS) Award

Micro Focus and the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) are pleased to sponsor the annual Young Technology Scholar (YTS) Award. This award is granted to high school seniors who have demonstrated proficiency in computer information technology related courses and leadership abilities in their schools and communities. Winners receive a scholarship award of up to $5,000. Winners are selected by the YTS Award Committee, which consists of representatives from Micro Focus, the Utah State Board of Education, and industry.

Applications must be received via email by 11:59 pm on April 8, 2024.
