School Counseling Programs Grant Opportunities

Overview

Applying and qualifying for grants provides opportunities in which Local Education Agencies (LEAs) can secure financial resources to develop and maintain school counseling programs. Elementary School Counselor Grant Program

Policy

The Elementary School Counselor Grant Program was created in accordance with the following regulations:

R277-461: Elementary School Counselor Grant Program
Utah State Board of Education Administrative Rules

This grant program awards grants to an Local Education Agency (LEA) to provide targeted school-based mental health support in elementary school, including trauma-informed care, through employment of qualifying personnel.

Application

The next grant application cycle will be initiated during the 2023-2024 school year.

Senate Bill (S.B.) 251 Grow Your Own Teacher and School Counselor Pipeline Program
Utah State Legislature

This program awards grants to the Local Education Agency (LEA) to provide scholarships to paraprofessionals, school counselor assistants, and school counselor interns for education and training to become licensed teachers or licensed school counselors.

To be considered to receive funding, the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) must receive your electronic application by the due date. All email submissions will be confirmed with a receipt e-mail from USBE within two business days. Late applications will not be accepted.

Grow Your Own (GYO) Teacher and School Counselor Pipeline Program Grant

Accountability Report

LEAs awarded Cohort 2 funding will be required to provide an Accountability Report confirming their Cohort 2 program candidate and mentor information. The report is due by October 14 and includes information for both fiscal years (FY 2023 and FY 2024).

Awarded LEAs are required to provide an Accountability Report confirming their program candidate information.
