Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs)

CTE Student Leadership Organizations

Student leadership organizations were established with the commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young people. In addition to offering a wide variety of specific career and technical training, CTE integrates student leadership elements, which complements student participation in these courses and programs. The term ”Career and Technical Student Organizations” (CTSOs) means an organization for individuals enrolled in a career and technical education program that engages in leadership activities as an integral part of the instructional program.

TSA is the CTSO for students in the:

  • Engineering Pathway
  • Mechanical Design (CAD) Pathway

TSA—Technology Student Association

TSA is the only student organization dedicated exclusively to students enrolled in technology education classes in grades K-12. Students participate in chapter fund-raising activities and community service projects. Leadership training is offered to student officers at the local, state, or national levels.
