- Assist the council in developing the School LAND Trust Plan to improve student achievement.
- Provide the Charter Trust Land Council with relevant data and information to help
identify academic needs and resource requirements.
- Ensure that the LAND Trust Plan is fully compliant with all program requirements and
guidelines.
- Oversee the effective and compliant use of LAND Trust funds.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of School LAND Trust funded initiatives on student
outcomes.
***Requirement DOES NOT apply to Charter Governing Boards acting as their Charter
Council
Fall
- Hold fall elections if required by the election procedures.
- ***Collaborate with the Charter Trust Land Council to review and update the council's
Rules of Order & Procedure.
- Updated election procedures within the Rules of Order & Procedure will go into effect
for the next election.
October 1
- Request the final School LAND Trust funding allocation for the school from the Charter
Business Administrator. If adjustments are needed for the SLT plan, have the council
submit an amendment.
October 20
Beginning of January
- The USBE School Children's Trust (SCT) team will send LEAs projected distribution
allocations for the upcoming school year. These allocations will be uploaded to the
SLT reporting website. LEAs will have until October 1 to reallocate the funds.
January 15
- Final Reports and Upcoming School LAND Trust Plans are available on the School LAND Trust reporting website. The plans include the funding amount allocated for the upcoming school year. Note
that amounts may be adjusted based on changes in student enrollment until October
1.
Prior to March 1 (Due date set by the Charter Business Administrator)
March 1
- The Final Report or summary of the report must be shared with the Charter Governing
Board and parents of the school.
Prior to May 1 (Due date set by the Charter Business Administrator)
- Charter LEA Assurance completed.
- The following items are due to the Charter Governing Board for review:

May 1
- The Charter Business Administrator must approve the School LAND Trust Plan and submit
it for USBE review in order to receive School LAND Trust funding in July.
Spring
- Optional: Use the Final Report Template to prepare for next year's submission. This practice helps capture information while
it is current and facilitates a smooth transitions during administrative changes.
- Hold spring elections if required by the election procedures.
