IT Infrastructure
Application, Business Analyst, and Desktop Support
The two Application/Business Analyst/Desktop Support Teams offer customer support for the systems, applications, and reports utilized by the Utah State Board of Education and Utah Local Education Agencies (LEAs). They provide documentation and testing for Utah State Board of Education developed applications. Members of these teams also provide desktop support for all agency provided software and equipment. They are the "go-to" people for questions about Student Data Systems, Educator and Financial Systems, and general IT assistance. Every application used at Utah State Board of Education has a support person assigned to help with any questions that may arise.

Development
The Development teams create, update, and maintain the applications used by the Utah State Board of Education. Utah State Board of Education has four development teams that cover two main areas; Student Data Systems Development and Educator and Financial Systems Development.
Student Data Related Development
The two Student Data Systems Development teams develop and implement systems, application and reports that support LEAs with state and federal reporting through student data collections. This includes Aspire Student Information Systems (SIS), Utah's Online Performance Information for Adult Education (UTopia), Data Warehouse, State Education Research File (SERF), Assessment, Utah Transcript and Record Exchange (UTREx), EDFacts, Statewide Student Identification (SSID), and the Data Gateway.
Educator and Financial Systems Development
The two Educator and Financial Systems teams develop and implement systems, applications and reports that support the Utah State Board of Education in teacher licensing, School Finance, and Internal Accounting. These teams are also responsible for the Utah State Board of Education webpages, Intranet, and Extranet.
Operations and Media Support
The Operations team takes care of all Utah State Board of Education devices that connect to the Utah State Board of Education network. The Operations team keeps Utah State Board of Education connected and our computer systems healthy and secure.
The Media Support Staff specialize in Media Production, including studio audio and video recordings, Camtasia screen recordings, off site video recordings, and editing and post production. They also provide A/V support in all conference rooms with standard codec equipment, including AirMedia, microphones, and video codecs.
Webinar support is provided upon request. Webinar platforms supported include Utah Education Network (UEN) stream cast, WebEx, Skype for Business Broadcast and Skype for Business and YouTube video stream.
Security
Security is a high priority for the Utah State Board of Education as we interact daily with student records. The Operations team supports the IT Security Manager in ensuring that the Utah State Board of Education infrastructure is as secure. All Utah State Board of Education staff are required to attend annual security training.
Website
The Web team manages the Content Management System (CMS), the backbone of the Utah State Board of Education website. Utah State Board of Education sections are responsible for the content of their pages. The Web team provides support and back up for the section web editors and web stagers including training of the CMS and Office of Civil Rights (OCR) web accessibility compliance.
