State Education Amendment

In 2026, the Utah State Legislature passed House Bill 0075: American Indian and Alaska Native Education Amendments, sponsored by Representative Christine F. Watkins and Senator Ronald M. Winterton. The appropriation of $362,500.00 annually to fund Uintah School District, Eagle View Elementary, and San Juan School District. The funding is ongoing from SB124 that supports stipends for teachers, recruitment and retention teacher program, professional development for teachers and staff, materials, books, supplies, attend local and national Indian Education conferences. The 2 school districts will report annually to the Native American Legislative Liaison Committee (NALLC).
