CTE Scholarships and Tuition Awards are for outstanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) students. The awards cover up to one year of tuition. Eligible applicants have a 1:2 odds of receiving an award. Would you spend four to five hours compiling a portfolio to receive well over $1,500? That's the reality of students applying for the over 100 CTE scholarships and tuition awards.
CTE Scholarships and Tuition Awards are open to any graduating senior student who plans to get CTE training after high school. This training must result in one of the following:
Candidates must be a legal U.S. resident, have senior status and graduate from a Utah-sponsored, public, secondary school before September 15, 2018. Please note that several colleges and universities also require a 3.0 cumulative GPA . (This includes Dixie Technical College.)
Immediate employment after completing training program is a requirement for all potential award recipients. Employment goal must be clearly stated in the student's narrative. Address 1) what employment the student intends to seek and 2) how the student plans to obtain related employment once training is completed.
Each nominee must complete all aspects of the portfolio. Mail or hand deliver application to the Utah State Board of Education. Applications must be postmarked by February (Date TBA) 2018.
