The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) Administrative Rules R277-404-9: Requirements for Assessments of Student Achievement - Data Exchanges requires the USBE to provide direction to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) detailing the data exchange requirements for each assessment. This section is intended to give Assessment Directors access to resources, trainings, documentation, and tools in order to manage data for each assessment.

CACTUS Core Codes

The comprehensive core codes are provided for LEAs to insure course codes match the instruction the student is receiving. Using incorrect core codes will prevent statewide assessments from generating.

Assessment Core Codes

Core codes are used for course-based rostering of assessments. Course-based assessments include: Acadience, Readiness Improvement Success Empowerment (RISE), and Standards-based Measurement of Proficiency (STAMP).  To take these assessments, students need to be enrolled in courses that have the appropriate core codes.

Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM)

Students are eligible to take a DLM assessment so long as the student has a 1% flag checked in his or her active SCRAM file. *Students with a 1% flag are not eligible for other state assessments regardless of core code.
