Description

Purpose

The Driver License Division has received a request from Utah State Board of Education USBE to make some enhancements to the Driver Education Management System (DEMS). These enhancements will allow high school instructors to enter more training information and allow specific data queries to be run directly from the DEMS web application.

Legal Authority

34 CFR § 99.31(a), 20 U.S. Code § 1232g(b). This data sharing is permitted under the “School Official Exception” of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
