Description

Purpose

The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) will be implementing Registered Apprenticeships in Education Services (K-12). To do this efficiently and effectively, they will become a Registered Apprenticeship Intermediary (Group Program) Sponsor. This will allow for a standardized approach and provide access for all public schools, districts and charter schools to implement registered educator apprenticeships. Funding will be used hire one FTE to manage intermediary activities and to fund education related expenses and on-the job-training for both registered apprentices and pre-apprentices.

Legal Authority

34 CFR § 99.31(a), 20 U.S. Code § 1232g(b). This data sharing is permitted under the “School Official Exception” of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
