Title II, Part A: Building Systems of Support for Excellent Teaching and Leading

Overview

The purpose of Title II, Part A is to provide grants to State Educational Agencies (SEAs) and subgrants to Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) to:

  • increase student achievement consistent with the challenging State academic standards,
  • improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school leaders,
  • increase the number of teachers, principals, and other school leaders who are effective in improving student academic achievement in schools, and
  • provide low-income and minority students greater access to effective teachers, principals, and other school leaders.

Instructions

Accepting Funds

LEAs wishing to accept the Title II, Part A funds allocated to them for FY 2022 must:

  1. Watch the presentation.
  2. Read the documentation.
  3. Complete the application.
  4. Submit the completed application under grant acceptance on Utah Grants.
Transferring Funds to Another Title Program

LEAs may opt to transfer some or all of their Title II, Part A funds to other approved title programs. To do so, an LEA must:

  1. Waive the award on Utah Grants.
  2. Complete the Local Education Agency (LEA) Title Funds Transfer Request Form.
  3. E-mail the completed Local Education Agency (LEA) Title Funds Transfer Request Form to Kami Dupree.
  4. Upon notification, accept the transferred funds on Utah Grants.
Transferring Funds from Title IV, Part A to Title II, Part A

LEAs may opt to transfer some or all of their Title IV, Part A funds to Title II, Part A. To do so, an LEA must:

  1. Waive awarded funds on Utah Grants.
  2. Complete the Local Education Agency (LEA) Title Funds Transfer Request Form.
  3. E-mail the completed Local Education Agency (LEA) Title Funds Transfer Request Form to Jodi Parker at jodi.parker@schools.utah.gov.
  4. Upon notification, accept the transferred funds on Utah Grants.
