Overview

The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) may have several items released for formal public comment at any given time. Below you will find information on open items for public comment, helpful resources, and information on how to report a concern. Feel free to share your input with USBE.

Members of the public are also welcome to send informal comments to their board members at any time (USBE Board Members). If you do not know the name of your board member, please go to Learn About the Candidates and Issues on the Vote.Utah.org website. 

Report a Concern

For information regarding a concern with USBE, a school district, district school, or charter school or if you believe a licensed educator has violated professional conduct rules.

DRAFT General Teaching Competencies

Summary: The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) is seeking public comment on DRAFT General Teaching Competencies. The draft Utah General Teaching Competencies incorporate Utah’s competency-based approach to educator preparation. The draft Utah’s General Teaching Competencies will be used to guide educator preparation programs. Educator Preparation Programs are expected to provide evidence of how they meet these competencies. USBE staff is seeking public feedback to gather stakeholder input to guide finalizing these competencies.
