Utah Code Section § 53E-4-307
This law requires the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) to contract for a benchmark
reading assessment system for students in grades K-6. The contract with ACE Scholarships
for a K-6 benchmark reading assessment system is a direct implementation of this statute.
Utah Administrative Rule R277-406
This rule outlines the specifics of when and how benchmark assessments must be administered
annually by Local Education Agencies (LEAs), providing a framework for the use of
the assessment system contracted by USBE.
