Description

Purpose

The purpose of this interagency agreement between the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) and University of Utah Utah Education Policy Center (UEPC) is to provide a high-level overview of a series of studies initially proposed by the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) to be conducted in partnership with UEPC. The first three studies focus on post-school outcomes for students with disabilities, leveraging existing USBE data and analysis to conduct new research which explores how best to support students in meaningful education and employment opportunities after exiting the K-12 school system.

Legal Authority

34 CFR § 99.31(a)(6) and 20 U.S. Code § 1232g(b). This data sharing is permitted under the “Studies Exception” of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
