Description

Purpose

The purpose of this contract between the Utah State Board of Education and Lecticon, Inc is to provide High school driver education railroad safety program.

Legal Authority

34 CFR § 99.31(a), 20 U.S. Code § 1232g(b). This data sharing is permitted under the “School Official Exception” of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Utah Code Section 53G-10-502
Requires at least one hour of classroom instruction and training on the subject of railroad safety for each driver education pupil. Utah public schools provide driver education to approximately 100,000 students annually. Students enrolled in public driver education course utilizing the selected program must be trained at their current school using interactive instruction.
