Description

Purpose

The purpose of this interagency agreement between the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) and Salt Lake County Health Department (SLCHD) is for the Salt Lake County Health Department will match their database of COVID-19 positive students to identify where a student is enrolled in school.

Legal Authority

34 CFR § 99.31, 34 CFR § 99.36, and 20 U.S. Code § 1232g(b). This data sharing is permitted under the “Health and Safety Emergency Exception” of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
