Description

Purpose

The purpose of this research sharing agreement between the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) and Kenwyn Derby (WestEd Researcher) is for Utah K-12 Student Mobility Analysis to Improve Education Outcomes. As part of the work of the Regional Educational Laboratory West (REL West), funded by the Institute of Education Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education, WestEd works with the USBE and other Utah education stakeholders to improve student instruction and outcomes, including supporting the United Way of Salt Lake-led cross-sector Promise Partnership initiative.

Legal Authority

34 CFR § 99.31(a)(6) and 20 U.S. Code § 1232g(b). This data sharing is permitted under the “Studies Exception” of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
