Description

Purpose

The purpose of this contract between the Utah State Board of Education and Drivers Ed Solutions, LLC is to provide driver education online scheduling software to Utah LEAs and charter schools.

Legal Authority

34 CFR § 99.31(a), 20 U.S. Code § 1232g(b). This data sharing is permitted under the “School Official Exception” of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Utah Code R277-746
Addresses driver education programs and incorporates a policy manual outlining standards and procedures for LEAs conducting driver education programs.

Utah Code Section 53G-10-503
Used to reimburse LEAs for classroom and behind-the-wheel driver education training, as well as fee waiver students and necessary equipment.
