Description

Purpose

The purpose of this interagency agreement between the Utah State Board of Education and University of Utah First Star Academy for Foster Youth is to provide First Star’s program which serves high school foster youth who live and learn on campus each summer throughout high school during their Summer Academies, and 1-2 days each month throughout every school year for Saturday Academies.

Legal Authority

34 CFR § 99.30, 20 U.S. Code § 1232g(b)(1), and 20 U.S. Code § 1232g(b)(2)(A). This data sharing is permitted under the parent consent provisions of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
