School Safety Pilot Program Grant (SSPPG)

Overview

The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) School Safety Center’s (SSC) objective is to increase and sustain school safety best-practices throughout the state of Utah. As part of this effort, we are providing a competitive grant opportunity for schools to receive up to $31,250.00 for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 to increase school safety measures.

The United States Secret Service says threat assessment is the best practice for preventing targeted school violence. This grant can help you to pay for threat assessment training in your Local Education Agency (LEA). It can also be used to contract with school safety organizations to provide targeted training like reunification or to attend one of the national school safety conferences.

Application Cycle

Local Education Agencies (LEAs) interested in recommending a school to participate in the School Safety Pilot Program and receive funding need to successfully complete and submit an application, to be approved by USBE.
