Utah Special Education Advisory Panel (USEAP)

The Utah Special Education Advisory Panel (USEAP) is an advisory panel appointed by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. The focus of the panel is issues involving the education of students with disabilities.

Duties

  • Advise the State Education Agency on developing and implementing policies relating to collaboration with other agencies for services to students with disabilities.
  • Advise the State Education Agency on developing corrective action plans to address the findings identified in federal monitoring reports under Part B of IDEA.
  • Advise the State Education Agency on developing evaluations and reporting on data collection.
  • Advise the State Education Agency on eligible students with disabilities in prisons.
  • Advise the State Education Agency on unmet needs.
  • Comment publicly on any rules for regulations proposed by the state regarding the education of students with disabilities.
