Passing the GED Tests 

  1. A Utah High School Completion Diploma is issued when all five GED Tests are passed that meet Utah testing standards.
  2. School age GED test-takers, who pass all five of the GED Tests according to the Utah state standard, (minimum of 410 on each test with an overall average score of 450) may not return to a K-12 program of instruction unless the test-taker has an active special education IEP and their class has not graduated. If this is the case then, the test-taker is eligible for Free Access to Public Education (FAPE) regardless of whether or not they may have successfully obtained a GED and the resulting Utah High School Completion Diploma.
  3. Academic credit is not allowed for successful passing of the GED Tests.
  4. Branches of the military may or may not accept GED credentials for enlistment GED candidates are strongly advised to contact the military recruiters to see what the current policy is.
