Fees to Take the GED Tests
The cost to take the GED Tests, entire battery is $70.00. This fee covers the cost of the testing and the GED Official Transcript of GED Tests Results. GED Tests attempted but not completed prior to January 1, 2002 are void and as such the fee to take the entire battery must be paid.
Test-takers may take and retake (twice) a single subject of the five GED subtests before starting the next subject.
Retesting Fees:
Language Arts/Writing Subtest Fee = $20.00
Any Other Subtest Fee = $15.00 per Test
“No Show Fee”
GED Testing Centers may charge an additional $15.00 to the registration fees for any test-takers who register for GED testing but do not show up to take the tests.
The waiving of GED testing fees is at the discretion of the testing centers.
Each testing center is an independent financial entity. As such, each center determines how long the payment of the initial testing fee is good for. However, for unity the original testing fee of $70.00 is good for 12 months. Testing centers may choose to extend this time period.
If the test-taker chooses to take the full GED Tests battery at more than one GED Testing Center each testing center may choose to charge the examine the $70.00; or the testing center may choose to charge the test-taker a “retake” fee of $15.00 for each remaining test of the full battery.
A fee is not charged to re-issue a Utah High School Completion Diploma and/or official GED Official Transcript of GED Tests Results from the Utah State Office of Education. GED Testing Centers may charge for this service.
