The purpose of this meeting is to facilitate cooperation and coordination among the Utah State Office of Education (USOE), districts and charter schools to further the efficient, accurate and timely exchange of school performance data. This agenda and all the information presented during data meetings will be available on the USOE Information Technology website.

Clearinghouse changes for 2005-2006 - Bruce Hudgens, Computer Services, Randy Raphael, School Finance and Statistics, Cal Newbold, Special Education

Technical changes (Bruce Hudgens, Randy Raphael)

Revised SCRAM record (S2) to meet new federal requirements in December 2006 (Cal Newbold)

NCLB choice and supplemental services (Nancy Shepard).

10 a.m.

High School Completion Status (Graduation Rates) - Randy Raphael, Finance and Statistics

How high school completion status counts will be derived from the data clearinghouose/warehouse.

10:20 a.m.

Security and Data Confidentiality - Jared Southwich, Computer Services, John Brandt, Computer Services

Security and data confidentiality including FERPA (students) and employment law (educators in CACTUS), use of CACTUS ID for all educator submissions.

10:40 a.m.

Cognos, Decision Support and Results Team - Russell Klein, Assessment and Accountability, Preston Checketts, Box Elder

Update on Cognos contract, Cognos user's group and decision support committee.

11 a.m.

NCLB/AYP and U-PASS - Jerry Winkler, Computer Services, Russell Klein, Assessment and Accountability

NCLB/AYP and U-PASS status.

Statewide Student Indenifier (SSID) update - Brad Loveland, Consys, Jerry Winkler, Computer Services

SSID status reports and its use with Clearinghouse, UBSCT, UALPA, CRTs.

1:30 p.m.

Spring 2005 Online CRT Test Administration - Bob Kempe, Assessment and Accountability

CRTs online from Pearson. Discussion of how, when and where a district will indicate to Pearson which schools and how many students will be participating in what tests. For online testing Mac OS must be 10.N or above.

2 p.m.

Breakout Sessions

Following the general meeting agenda items there will be small group break-out sessions for open discussion and questions and answers. Many of the sessions will allow participants to cover items addressed in the general meeting in more detail, others will address items in which the USOE is trying to gather data or to help districts or charters that are unfamiliar with state level data exchanges.

Tables will be arranaged in different areas of the room and tagged for the various topics to be discussed.
