Early Childhood (K-3) License Area of Concentration
In certain circumstances an individual that holds a Utah Educator License with an Elementary (1-8) License Area of Concentration can earn an Early Childhood (K-3) License Area through specific coursework rather than a univeristy program. Please review the application form for more information.
To apply for an Early Childhood (K-3) license area you must already have an Elementary (1-8) license area.

Endorsements, Demonstrated Competency, and Lines of Evidence Endorsements
Listed below are the procedures to assist you in obtaining additional subject matter endorsement(s). These procedures require that you contact the State Office Specialist. Please be aware that in order to be eligible to apply for demonstrated competency, you must have taught (under contract) for two years in the subject within the previous five-year period. This experience must have taken place in Utah. Lines of evidence may include the following:
- Any college courses in the subject matter area (official or legible copy of transcript).
- Any Professional Development courses in the subject matter area.
- Special methods courses.
- The recommendation of your principals and others, which must be specific to the subject.
- A passing score from a standardized test in the subject in which endorsement is sought.
- Student test scores on achievement tests in the subject.
To apply for these endorsements, you must already have a Level 1 or Level 2 License with an Elementary or Secondary Area of Concentration. Endorsements available through this program are:
