Requesting Utah GED Records

Please note that in all cases, Utah GED scores are the property of the Utah State Office of Education and scores will not be given to anyone without written permission of the examinee. Approximate turnaround time is 7-10 working days.

For test scores outside of Utah, please contact the state GED office in which the test was taken.

A. OBTAIN A COPY OF YOUR OWN GED SCORE REPORT

  1. Testing BEFORE 1991: Please contact the testing center where you tested.
  2. Testing AFTER 1991: Please contact the testing center where you tested to MAIL or FAX the UTAH GED Transcript Record Request Form.

B. VERIFY A UTAH GED EXAMINEE’S SCORE
For third parties such as colleges, employers, verification companies, please provide the following information by contacting the local testing site (if you know in which city it is located) or by faxing information to us at 801-538-7868. You must include the following information:

  1. Examinee’s name at the time of testing;
  2. Examinee’s COMPLETE SS#;
  3. Examinee’s COMPLETE date of birth;
  4. A specific request telling us what you need and where it is to be mailed OR faxed;
  5. When and where (at least the city) the GED tests were taken—as best as you are able to ascertain; and
  6. Examinee’s signature releasing the information.

C. TO LOCATE AN OLD UTAH RECORD
For some testing sites, our state GED Testing Database has records back into the 1970s. For other testing sites, the records only go back to 1995. As a free service, we will research our records first. If we are unable to find your records, the testing site where the examinee tested might have them OR the contacts listed below.

D. LOCATE MILITARY/OLD MILITARY RECORDS AND OVERSEAS RECORDS

To obtain a copy of your military GED transcript, please visit http:/www.acenet.edu/clll/ged/trans-request.cfm and download a GED Transcript Request Form. Fill in all information (including payment information) and fax to 202-659-8875. You may mail your request form to the address on the for and pay with a $12.00 money order. Pleas allow up to two weeks for processing. In case you have any additional questions, please call 202-939-9490.
