In 2004, about 7,000 Utah adults attempted to pass the GED. Though most people who pass the GED don't become world famous, Americans and Canadians alike, from all walks of life, have successfully completed their GED tests and earned diplomas. Some well known graduates are:

  • Ben Nighthorse Campbell, U.S. Senator
  • Bill Cosby, Comedian
  • Dave Thomas, Founder of Wendy's
  • John Michael Montgomery, Country Singer
  • Kelly McGillis, Actress
  • Mary Lou Retton, Olympic Gold Medalist
